Q&A with Nicole Nutrition Client: Sara

Paint me a picture of what your relationship with nutrition and other health habits was like before working together. What wasn’t working or was frustrating you most?

I definitely was a yo-yo dieter before we started working together. I’d count calories/macros like crazy for several weeks/months, then I’d fall off the wagon and kind of do whatever I wanted, just to count calories again a few weeks later. I tried to limit my carb intake as much as possible because you’re taught “carbs are bad.” Nothing I was doing was working for me, no matter how hard I tried.

Since working together on your nutrition and wellness, what’s been the most positive change in your health? What about in your life?

I don’t stress about food 24/7 anymore. Sure there are days that I think about it, but it doesn’t consume my day-to-day anymore. I’ve learned I need carbs to perform in the gym/daily life at my best. Nothing is “off-limits” anymore. I can eat anything in moderation and not feel overwhelmed if a day isn’t “on track.”

Did you have any hesitations before working with a dietitian? What pushed you over the fence and convinced you it was worth it?

I was worried about not being on a diet. How do you lose weight or be healthy and not be on a diet?? I finally decided to go for it when I started training for a half marathon. I knew I’d need proper guidance on how to fuel my body and eat the right things.

If you were to tell a friend about working with Nicole, what would you say? Why did you choose her? And why did you choose now?

I found Nicole through a mutual friend via Instagram. I read through her website and some of her posts and really liked her approach to food and being a “non-diet” dietitian. I’d never head of that before I met Nicole and it really intrigued me. She’s so kind, and really wants to help you become the best version of yourself.
